Characteristics
Polyester fiberfill features an excellent shape retaining performance, meaning the flat or fluffy shape of the polyester fiber or fabric will retain its original shape, even after numerous washings. It features a high strength performance, with the short fiber strength being 2.6~5.7cN/dtex and the high tenacity fiber strength being 5.6 ~ 8.0cN/dtex. This fiberfill is also highly elastic, offering a performance similar to that of wool. For example, when stretched to 5 to 6%, it will recover back to a nearly perfect original shape. The wrinkle resistance of the polyester material also exceeds that of other fibers, demonstrated in an excellent dimensional stability. With a high melting point and low heat capacity and thermal conductivity, this polyester fiberfill ranks among the highest of flame resistant synthetic materials. The surface of the polyester material is smooth, due to the tightly aligned internal molecules. This also gives it a strong wear resistance, second only to nylon, which means it will perform better than natural fibers or other synthetic materials. This material features numerous advantages, including a strong resistance to light, corrosion, acids, alkaline substances and UV rays.
